Response to Are people against America?

Your right, Ireland do benefit from the 3rd world and it usually comes up eventually in arguments as a significant reason people support bombing of poor countries: even still we have a booming economy - why rock the boat. I think that one of the reasons we don't see so much protest here about Russia's actions in Chechnia, for example, is because we don't have a lot to do with it and therefore an obvious corollory is that we do have a lot to do with the actions of the West and people feel responsible. A concrete example of Ireland's contribution to the War is the use of Shannon for refueling war planes for the last few months and scarcely an eyebrow was raised about it.
