Response to Late Late Show

I don't think the Late Late Show is the right place to adequately hear both sides of a complex issue. In fifteen minutes or whatever it was you can only give your elevator pitch and hope you get the message across. I'm not against debate at all but on television there's no time.

Not sure I agree with you about the presentation - I thought it was good.

There were a couple of items that were not adequately challenged:

Pro-Saddam
We heard the usual bullshit about the Anti-War Movement being pro-Saddam based on the dichotomous logic that if you not with us then your with enemy.

Although this was denied - there wasn't time to explain that nobody cares about Saddam and everybody wants him out - it's the means of removing him and what happens afterwards that's at issue.

Oil cannot the reason - the figures don't add up
I disagree and have posted at length explaining why click here to see the post. The summary of that article is that yes there is enough oil and in any case the energy companies are not paying for the war the public is so the cost of the war wont appear on their books.

My biggest regret is that the segment was at the end of the show. I knew it was on but didn't know when. I don't want to put myself through that again - not even for world peace.
