Amnesty International, Galway are holding 2 "close guantanamo" events on wednesday 31st October. Volunteers are needed to dress up as guantanamo captives, and u.s. soldiers (scary, even for Halloween). The captives will be marched from Eyre Square, Galway, through the main streets to Spanish Arch at 12.30- 1.30, and 5.30- 6.30pm that day. please contact the Amnesty International shop, middle st., galway to volunteer. The Galway Alliance Against War is organising a peace bus for the anti-war demonstration in Dublin on Saturday 10th November to mark 1 million US troops having travelled through Shannon Airport on their way to war. It is now estimated that 1 million people have also been killed in Iraq since the invasion.
