For the next 3 weeks swp, GALWAY ALLIANCE AGAINST WAR and eco-soc will jointly be showing a series of films to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the first ever global demonstration, which occurred on 15th February 2003 before the start of the war in Iraq. The demo was Ireland's largest ever and thus a very significant event.

Screening of ‘BATTLE FOR HADITHA’ as part of Dublin International Film Festival. This is not an official IAWM event but all members of IAWM are invited to attend. The IAWM wil be leafletting the event outside.
This Saturday 23rd February the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign are calling on all supporters of the Palestinian people to take to the streets as part of a global day of protest to end the siege in Gaza. This is an international day of protest with demonstrations taking place across Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.The IPSC's protest action will take place from 12.30pm onwards at The Spire on O'Connell St. in Dublin city centre.

THURSDAY 20 MARCH
Local Anti- War group Galway Alliance Against War will mark the 5th anniversary of the start of the Iraq war by holding a minute's silence (at 12 noon) in memory of more than one million people who have died in Iraq as a result of the USUK invasion and occupation, and to highlight that more than 1 million US troops have passed through Shannon airport!.
We urge all anti-war activists to remember these deaths by holding this silence where-ever they may be at the time.
