Local Anti- War group Galway Alliance Against War will mark the 5th anniversary of the start of the Iraq war by holding a minute's silence (at 12 noon) in memory of more than one million people who have died in Iraq as a result of the USUK invasion and occupation, and to highlight that more than 1 million US troops have passed through Shannon airport!.
We urge all anti-war activists to remember these deaths by holding this silence where-ever they may be at the time.

tells the story of 14 year old John Condon, a Waterford boy, who was
the youngest "allied" soldier killed in WW I. He died of gas
poisoning- the first time poisonous gas was used in the war.

MediaBite is hosting a debate in DIT Aungier street, Dublin2, on the 9th of April at 6:15pm.
The event is a debate on media coverage of the Iraq war. The purpose of which is discuss whether something can be learned from the perceived failures of that coverage and whether lessons learned could have implications for coverage of future conflicts, specifically the current escalation towards Iran.
