No welcome for Bush
There are a number of events now taking place to build for the Bush visit.- see below
The rally at the City Hall at 12.30pm on the day is expected to be big. NIPSA passed an emergency motion at their annual conference backing the rally. More importantly they have sent a flyer to every single union branch telling members to support and attend the rally. People can just stick them up on notice boards in their workplaces.
As ICTU (NI) is backing the rally and they represent all the Unions, everyone who is in a workplace can stick the leaflet up on their Union Notice board.
Leafletting has taken place at a number of workplaces with a really great response from people. There are hundreds of posters and leaflets for people to distribute

Campaigners in Galway are organising a Freedom from Torture festival.
The Street Parade will be lead by a 10-metre dragon keeping the flame of hope alive. Drummers, jugglers and flame throwers will be joining the parade, which starts at Eyre Square and ends at Spanish Arch. There will be a concert and picnic with performers and activities at Spanish Arch.
We will be assembling at the Daniel O'Connell statue on O'Connell Street at the quays in Dublin and hope to form a single line of people all the way up to the Parnell monument and beyond.
As far as possible, people should wear orange clothing as we only have a limited number of the jumpsuits. We will provide signs. Bring your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours etc. We need as many bodies as possible to make the strongest statement possible to the Irish, British, American and other governments. Torture must end.
Millions of volunteers needed but we will settle for thousands :)
Please sign up to join the demonstration. Email Sandra – sscotthayward@amnesty.ie
For more information, please contact Amnesty Wexford Group – Cáit Branigan – 086 8550734.
There will be a poetry reading in Galway in association with Over the Edge Writers Association and Unchained Melodies to highlight the international day against torture.
The event will be hosted by Kevin Higgins with readers: Rita Anne Higgins, Mary O Mally, Sheikh Kaled among others.
