Motions The Irish Anti-War Movement has voiced concern in the past that this battle is the beginning of a military project, which will in the future be used to play a role on the world stage to complement the N.A.T.O.’s aggressive militarist policies and strategies. At the same time our involvement in this battle group is a continuation of the government’s policy to compromise our neutrality by stealth.

Dear Friend, The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) is organising a protest in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Yarmouk refugee camp and demanding that the Syrian government and all groups lift the siege of the Yarmouk and allow safe passage out for the people there. It will take place on Thursday 9 April, 5.30pm, at the GPO on O'Connell Street for about an hour. Thousands of civilians are in "immediate danger" and must be evacuated from "completely dire" conditions following ISIS' attack on the refugee camp, a U.N. official said on Tuesday. UNWRA official, Chris Gunness, said: "The situation in the camp is beyond inhumane.” Yarmouk refugee camp is home to Palestinians ethnically cleansed from their homes by Israel, their right of return is enshrined in international law, repeatedly so in UN resolution 194. Some 18,000 Palestinian civilians are trapped with limited food and water in the Yarmouk camp near Syria's capital, caught between government forces and duelling rebel groups. Their already-tenuous situation, being under siege for years, deteriorated sharply last week when ISIS launched a push to seize control of the camp from rival armed groups there. IPSC EVENT - SCREENING OF 'THE LAB' TONIGHT AT TCD We strongly recommend our members attend the screening of this important documentary titled The Lab organised by the IPSC. Made by a former Haaretz journalist Yotam Feldman (who will attend the screening) it argues how Israel uses Gaza as a laboratory for testing new weapons. This is to coincide with the launching of the IPSC's campaign to ‘End the Irish Arms Trade With Israel’. Details below. Dear friend of the Palestinian people, I am writing to to invite you to attend the following event - the launch of the End the Irish Arms Trade With Israel campaign - taking place in at 11.30am Dublin tomorrow, Wednesday 1st April in Buswell's Hotel, Molesworth St. It is short notice, but if you are free and interested, you are most welcome to pop into the press conference for a half an hour or so. The campaign's first event will be the screening of the award-winning documentary about the Israeli weapons industry, 'The Lab', followed by a Q&A with the director Yotam Feldman, which also takes place tomorrow at 7pm in the Thomas Davis Theatre, Trinity College Dublin (Arts Block). Entry is free, and all are welcome. We would also ask you to take the time to please carry out some of the actions suggested on the campaign page to highlight the issue, and help end this trade in death. We hope to see you at one or both of these events. IAWM BULLETIN – IPSC EVENTS FOR ISRAELI APARTHEID WEEK IAWM members are encouraged to attend some of these excellent events over the next week organized by the Ireland Palestinian Solidarity Campaign:
1. Israeli Apartheid Week is an annual international series of events (including rallies, lectures, performances, films, multimedia displays and protest actions) held in cities and campuses across the globe. Last year was incredibly successful with over 200 cities taking part in 30 countries. IAW aims to raise awareness about Israel’s apartheid policies towards the Palestinians and to build support for the growing campaign of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. Once again the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is proud to be hosting a series of events in Ireland between the 7th and 14th March 2015.
