eyal many of the tens of thousands of civilians who have been slaughtered in afghanistan would probably prefer to be alive under the taliban i would imagine the 300 or so hostages in cuba preferred their old ways rather than torture opium production has increased by 23% in 12 months warlords rule much of the country with terror and horrendous abuses there is no functioning central control over large swathes of the country, torture and internment are the norm is it better now? in many ways yes but in many ways no was i a fan of the taliban? - no did the united states care all that much about the taliban or the enslaved women before 11/9 ? - no
