He's the Congressional Caucus chair from Ohio bidding for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination.
Here's what he said at the Iowa primary:
"Yes, I am a candidate for peace. I am a candidate for social justice. I am a candidate who says we can change the outcomes. We can change this country. We can change the world."
And he has backed up his idealistic rhetoric by being the only candidate who voted in Congress against authorizing Bush to wage war on Iraq.
He's been described as "the one Democrat who is from the democratic wing of the Democrat party."
Not surprisingly, Kucinich's campaign is underfinanced. There's little profit in peace for the Bechtels and Halliburtons of this world. Is it too much to hope that a politician who would undermine the war profiteers could have a serious chance of becoming president?
