Response to WHAT ABOUT OTHER WARS? (2)

Hi Rachel, even though the UN has been weakened it still, in theory, is capable of protecting innocent lives by getting in between warring factions. In Congo, like many inter ethnic or tribal conflicts, the recent 1,000 (think this number was an over estimate) killed in Congo was tribal militias plundering villagers, with the UN too scared (or under orders) to stay in their compound. We all pay for the UN (although I'm not sure if the US is up to date!) and should demand that they protect innocent people caught in the vacuum of war or it's aftermath. The miserable failures at Screbrenica and Rwanda were so preventable
