BUSES TO CONVERGE ON SHANNON FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY
A national protest will take place at Shannon Airport tomorrow, Sunday 08 September, assembling from 2pm.
Multiple anti-war and peace groups from around Ireland will attend the protest organised by Shannonwatch and the IPSC. More detailed information at SHANNONWATCH and IPSC.
The IAWM has co-organised and filled two big buses to travel from Dublin to Shannon on 8th September to join the protest. Chartered buses have also been organised from other cities and towns in Ireland. Many more activists will travel by car.
The IAWM condemns the ongoing facilitation to the US Military at Shannon Airport since 2003. It is even more egregious to allow this misuse of an Irish civilian airport during the current US-enabled Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Jim Roche, PRO of the Steering Committee of the IAWM said:
“We have long since called for the facility to the US Military at Shannon Airport to cease. It both implicates Irish citizens in US imperialist wars and is a clear infringement of Ireland’s neutrality. We are deeply concerned about the serious revelations recently about planes from the US to Israel going through Irish airspace and Shannon. The IAWM want to tell the Irish Government that this collusion with Israel’s genocide in Palestine must stop. It is long past time to stop giving the US genocide enablers a free ride at Shannon Airport.”
Kieran O Sullivan, Steering Committee IAWM said:
“Governments can stop planes flying over their country’s airspace. This is a political decision, not a legal issue. The IAWM is fundamentally opposed to Israeli planes, or planes destined for Israel that are facilitating a genocide, going through Irish airspace. The Irish Government can stop this immediately.”
