IRISH ANTI WAR MOVEMENT (IAWM) PRESS RELEASE, 02 OCTOBER 2025
The IAWM will join the emergency protest at Dáil Éireann today to protest the Irish Government’s inaction against the Israeli attack on the peaceful Global Sumud Freedom Flotilla on route to bring vital humanitarian aid and hope to the besieged, starving people of Gaza who are experiencing the most horrific genocide.
This protest is one of many spontaneous protests happening around Ireland and in European cities in support of the flotilla and the people of Palestine.
Jim Roche, PRO & Secretary of the Steering Committee, who was on Irish Ship to Gaza in 2012 said:
“This unwarranted illegal intervention by the Israeli Navy is yet another act of state terrorism against peaceful unarmed humanitarian activists trying to bring vital aid to the desperate people of Gaza suffering a genocide. These humanitarians are merely doing what western Governments should be doing. We call on the Irish Government to openly condemn this act of piracy by the Israeli Navy, to exert diplomatic pressure internationally, to demand the immediate safe release of the Irish citizens taken prisoner and to finally comprehensively sanction the rogue terror state of Israel.”
