In 1974 in the aftermath of the burning of the cages, republican prisoners in Long Kesh were treated as guinea pigs by the British Government. The army attacked the prisoners with CR gas in an experiment testing out riot control methods. Prisoners from both the republican and loyalist camps were then taken to a portable hospital bus in an attempt to ascertain the probable long term side effects of those exposed (republican) and those not (loyalist). Blood samples were sent to Porton Down. The British Government has denied any involvement and requests to access the findings using the Freedom Of Information Act have been unsuccessful. Many of the men who were exposed to CR gas during the experiment have since died at an early age of cancer related illnesses. Please sign this petition to ask Gordon Brown for a full inquiry.http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Ceartais/ Thank you, Aine
