1. FREE RAIF – AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL DEMONSTRATION AT SAUDI ARABIAN EMBASSY
In May 2014 Saudi blogger Raif Badawi was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 1000 lashes. He received 50 lashes in public on 9 January 2015. He has not been flogged since, possibly due to an international outcry. Unbelievably the Saudi Arabian Supreme Court has recently upheld the sentence on blogger Raif Badawi. He could now be subject to 950 more lashes.
Western Governments are completely hypocritical about Saudi Arabia. They sell it arms while failing to condemn its appalling human rights record.
We urge our members to come along and support this demonstration called by Amnesty International Ireland.
