GALWAY PEACE BUS FOR DUBLIN DEMO

The Galway Alliance Against War is organising a peace bus for the anti-war demonstration in Dublin on Saturday 10th November to mark 1 million US troops having travelled through Shannon Airport on their way to war.  It is now estimated that 1 million people have also been killed in Iraq since the invasion.

The Iraq war was based on a lie, said GAAW spokesperson Niall Farrell. The people of the US and Britain were told the invasion was to destroy Saddam s non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction. In reality the invasion was about oil. And now more lies are being spun to prepare for an attack on Iran.

Plenty of lies have been told in Ireland too, to excuse the use of Shannon by the US war machine. The Green Party is the most recent example. Before the election they openly declared themselves against Ireland s involvement in this war. Now they are colluding in the carnage and are keeping their heads down. But for the people of Iraq that is not an option.

Those intetested in travelling to the peace demonstration should contact GAAW on 087-9159787 or by email gaaw1@eircom.net.

The bus will leave from Galway Cathedral at 9.30 am on Saturday 10th November.

and depart from Dublin at 5.30pm. Cost 8 euro single/return
