The Irish Anti-War Movement has organised a special public meeting this

Thursday at 7 pm, 21st March in the Edmund Burke Theatre, Trinity College, Dublin.

Making a Killing: the Gaza Genocide and the Arms Trade

Speakers include:

  • Dr. Ghada Karmi, Palestinian activist, academic and author
  • Andrew Feinstein, former South African ANC MP and son of holocaust survivors, filmmaker, and author of The Shadow World: Inside the Global Arms Trade
  • Fatin Al Tamimi, Vice Chair, Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign
  • Niamh Bhriain, War & Pacification Programme Coordinator, Transnational Institute

The Israeli military has been developing and practicing new weaponry and bombs on Palestinians for decades. In a way, Palestine is one big laboratory for both the Israeli and the global arms industry which are making immense profits from the current genocide in Gaza. The stock share of multiple arms manufacturers rose dramatically from 8th October 2023.

The US is the main supplier of arms to Israel, which stood at €3.8 billion annually but has massively increased since the current onslaught began on 7th October 2023. Biden and Blinken have quietly agreed on several US arms consignments without congressional approval. Most EU countries, Britain, and other countries are likewise flooding Israel with weapons and bombs. Arms are still flowing to Israel despite the recent call by the Special Procedures Group of the UN Human Rights Council, which implicates these countries in war crimes.

Israel’s own arms and surveillance industry is also profiteering from this current genocidal onslaught. After previous wars on Gaza, the sales of Israeli arms and surveillance systems increased dramatically. In 2014, four Palestinian children were brutally killed while playing football on a beach, targeted by an Israeli-made Hermit drone which subsequently became one of Israel’s big lucrative exports. The same is likely to happen this time, with its newly developed AI mass assassination systems, currently being battle-tested on civilians in Gaza, bound to attract multiple eager buyers.

Over 100,000 Gazans have been purposely killed or injured since 7th October, the majority of them women and children; all victims of the Israeli military and the global arms trade.

The IAWM is inviting all pro-Palestinian activists to attend this important meeting and learn how the current genocidal onslaught against Palestinians is inextricably linked to the murky, profiteering, and corrupt global arms industry.
