3 British soldiers were killed on Sunday 8 June, taking

Chris Nineham from "Stop the War"  interviewed by "The Guardian" said,

"Afghanistan is becoming a disaster all too reminiscent of Iraq. It is quite clear that
the Nato forces are bogged down, deeply unpopular, facing more and more resistance and causing mayhem rather than bringing   democracy. We want the troops to be withdrawn because there is no possibility of progress in Afghanistan while it is occupied
by foreign forces."

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, the British Army   used the occasion of the 100th soldier killed to say that it   was making "progress" and had "turned the corner" in
Afghanistan. On the same day "The Observer" newspaper in an   article titled

"Fear, disillusion and despair"

gave details  of the reality for the Afghan people, suffering from 6 years of US led war and occupation:

* Number killed in 2007: 8,000
* Number who do not have enough to eat: 33 per cent
* Number of unemployed: 40 per cent
* Estimated total of amputees from the war: 40,000
