Labour Party councillor and member of Galway Alliance Against War, Collette Connolly, is to put down a motion to the council this month to call for the termination of the use of Shannon Airport by US troops on their way to and from their imperialist wars .
In 2008 Galway City Council passed a motion opposing the use of Irish airports for rendition flights, but the Irish government has still not taken any steps to ensure rendition flights are not using Irish airports or airspace!
