  • NO MORE EXCUSES – IRISH GOVERNMENT MUST SANCTION ISRAEL NOW
  • STOP THE CENTRAL BANK SELLING ISRAELI WAR BONDS
  • ENACT THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES BILL
  • STOP SELLING IRISH BEEF TO THE ISRAELI ARMY
  • STOP ARMS FLIGHTS THROUGH IRISH AIRSPACE
  • END U.S. MILITARY STOPOVER AT SHANNON WARPORT

The IAWM will today join multiple other groups in supporting the IPSC PROTEST FOR PALESTINE

This protest happens on the 77th anniversary of the Nakba and is calling for sanctions against Israel to prevent the current genocidal Nakba.

Words fail us as we witness the intensification of Israel’s murderous campaign of annihilation of the population of Gaza. 250 Gazans have been murdered by Israel since Thursday morning. Israel has increased its bombing campaign targeting areas all over Gaza. It is also deliberately starving the people of Gaza creating near-famine like conditions since early March. The Israeli Government has made very clear that it intends to clear the entire population from Gaza, a policy openly supported by US President Donald Trump.

While we welcome the statement by 7 European leaders condemning Israel’s new war plans and the Taoiseach’s recent statement that this constitutes a war crime – these statements are all too little, too late, and are meaningless unless accompanied by serious sanctions against Israel.

Jim Roche, Secretary and PRO of the IAWM Steering Committee said:

“The contrast this week between the intensification of the Gaza genocide and the evidence of a developing famine and Trump’s trillion-dollar desert jamboree with autocratic, despotic Petro-Princes could not be starker. It is a sad and bitter reflection on the state of humanity. Trump, as US President in the world, could stop the genocide with one phone call if he was seriously interested in peace as he proclaims. Yet as we have witnessed, he is more interested in buying favour with corrupt, despotic Arab leaders, further militarising the region and securing lucrative deals to enrich himself and his family members. It is sickening beyond anything we have witnessed so far. The only succour we can take is the massive pro-Palestinian movement across the world which, if it keeps up the pressure, can effect change. That is why we must be out in Dublin again today in our tens of thousands in solidarity with Palestine and calling on the Irish Government to get off the fence and finally comprehensively SANCTION ISRAEL.”
