The Irish Anti-War Movement

Shannon Vigil: Sunday, 12 August

IAWM BULLETIN – 10 AUGUST 2012
1. SHANNON VIGIL [Sunday, 12 August]
2. DONATING TO THE IAWM
1. Shannon Vigil
Date: Sunday, 12 August, 2012, 14:00 – 15:00
Location: Meet at small roundabout just before airport entrance
The sight of uniformed foreign troops getting on and off Omni Air International aircraft at Shannon is not as frequent as it was some months ago. But troops are still going through. So too are Hercules C-130’s and other US Air Force and Navy aircraft. The US killer drones may even be passing through Shannon – we just don’t know because the authorities cannot or won’t inform us.
By refusing to end the US military use of Shannon, the Irish government are failing to uphold Irish neutrality, respect international law, or show any concern for the millions of people suffering as a result of the US occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq. Join the protest to demand they do so. Next one is on Sunday 12th August from 2pm to 3pm.
