Peaceful demonstration in Shannon to protest against ongoing US military and suspected CIA use of the airport.
2013 has begun in much the same way as the last few years have – Guantanamo Bay detention centre is still open despite Obama’s promise to close it; CIA paramilitaries roam the world with no regard for national or international laws; innocent people are dying unnecessarily in Afganistan, Pakistan and elsewhere around the world; and there is a serious risk of the US invading another Middle-Eastern country. The Irish government seems determined to be part of this global lawlessness by refusing to investigate or end the use of Shannon Airport by the US military and CIA so our demonstrations there must be continued. Join us if you can from 2pm to 3pm on Sunday.
